Regent Phu Quoc Unveils Ocean-Inspired Christmas Tree for the 2023 Festive Season

Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam – December, 2023 – Regent Phu Quoc, the ultra-luxury beachfront resort nestled in the heart of Vietnam's breathtaking Phu Quoc Island, is delighted to announce the launch of its one of a kind Christmas tree, designed to capture the essence of the island's pristine oceanic beauty. The resort welcomes guests to immerse themselves in the spirit of the season with this awe-inspiring centerpiece, adorned with exquisite marine-themed decorations and crafted from sustainable materials.

Drawing inspiration from the stunning natural surroundings of Phu Quoc island, Regent Phu Quoc's Christmas tree reflects the enchanting splendor of the Phu Quoc’s marine life. Standing tall and resplendent in hues of serene blue, the tree serves as a captivating symbol of the resort's commitment to sustainability and the preservation of the island's delicate ecosystem.

The carefully curated ornaments, handcrafted by local artisans, include delicate sea shells, elegant starfishes, intricately designed snails, and symbolic fishes. These fishes represent the island's iconic rice fish, which holds great cultural significance and is considered a lucky symbol. The rice fish is an integral part of Phu Quoc's renowned fish sauce, a delicacy cherished by locals and visitors alike.

What sets Regent Phu Quoc's Christmas tree apart is not only its stunning aesthetics but also its dedication to environmental responsibility. The tree is constructed from reusable materials, embodying the resort's commitment to sustainable practices and reducing its ecological footprint. The tree base is made from pure iron mined in the northern region provinces decades ago, repurposing a total of 840kg of iron: The main tree stands at 4 meters and weighs 200kg, while two additional trees of 2.5 meters account for 300kg. The 17 small trees, weighing 20kg each, contribute to a total of 340kg.

The marine-themed ornaments are sourced and collected from local fishermen across Vietnam, including Phu Quoc. These ornaments, such as starfish, shells, and snails, are sun-dried using traditional techniques employed by villagers to dry shrimps and fishes in Vietnam, completely chemical-free. Once dried, the ornaments receive a layer of shiny oil and natural color, enhancing their beauty and preserving them for years to come. The wooden fishes are handcrafted from repurposed pinewood that still retains its natural pine resin, providing protection from insects and ensuring durability.

Holiday Offerings: In honor of the holiday season, guests are invited to enjoy a Festive Coastline Cruise on the resort’s own luxury catamaran, Serenity from December 16th to January 6th.
