The foundation of Sheraton Hanoi Hotel's excellence was laid during the construction phase from 1993 to 1997. Despite delays due to the 1997 Asian financial crisis and the 2002 SARS outbreak, Sheraton Hanoi Hotel triumphantly opened its doors on March 5, 2004. In 2016, the acquisition by Marriott International marked a significant transformation. Sheraton Hanoi Hotel seamlessly adapted the new brand identity, yet continued living by the Sheraton brand positioning.

Becoming “Where the World Gathers”

Over the years, Sheraton Hanoi Hotel has hosted numerous head of state groups and VIP events, becoming a preferred venue for international dignitaries and esteemed leaders. From the US to China, Russia to Japan, and beyond, the hotel has been honored to serve leaders from various nations for state dinners and national events. The locals refer to Sheraton Hanoi Hotel as one of the top wedding venues and dining destinations in Hanoi.

Sheraton Hanoi Hotel has undergone continuous facility enhancements, including repainting in 2012 and 2022, refurbishments in 2018, the introduction of a new Sheraton Club lounge in 2023, and the transformation of bar Deja Vu into the Ho Tay function room, responding to the city’s rising banquet demand. In the middle of 2024, the Song Hong grand ballroom, Song Da Complete function room, and Hemispheres Steak & Seafood Grill restaurant will be renovated, promising to offer guests a more inviting spaces for event, wedding and dining experiences.

Throughout 20 years, Sheraton Hanoi Hotel has also been contributed to giving back to the community, organized hundreds of charity trips to orphanages, nursing homes, and the caring house of war victims of Agent Orange; and fund-raising events for Operation Smile.

In response to the growing emphasis on responsible, green and sustainable travel trends, Sheraton Hanoi has also implemented various practices including transitioning to large bottles for residential bath amenities, eliminating plastic water bottles from guest rooms and function rooms. Additionally, our culinary offerings embraced sustainability with the incorporation of cage-free eggs and a 30% plant-based craft menu. Looking ahead to 2024, Sheraton Hanoi’s commitment to sustainability extends to installing electric vehicle chargers in the hotel parking lot and minimizing energy usage across our operations.
