According to the report by the consulting consortium PORTCOAST - TEDIPORT – HPEC, the Vung Tau international cruise terminal is planned to be built at Bai Truoc (Front Beach) with a projected investment of nearly 8 trillion VND (equivalent to USD 314.7 million).
The port complex will include a passenger terminal combined with duty-free shops, offices, hotels, and tourism apartments, as well as a marina, parking areas for taxis and buses, technical infrastructure, landscaping, piers, embankments, breakwaters, and service dock areas.
The terminal will feature a pier capable of docking on both sides, accommodating ships between 225,000 and 228,000 GT (or larger, subject to conditions). The total length of the pier is 420 meters, including a 120-meter-long passenger platform, with the main pier connected to the shore by a 700-meter access bridge. The port is designed to host luxury cruise ships with capacities of 5,000 to 6,000 passengers.
With a total investment of around 8 trillion VND, the Vung Tau international cruise terminal is considered the largest in southern Vietnam. Ba Ria-Vung Tau has become an increasingly popular cruise destination, welcoming over 80,000 cruise passengers in 2023.
