Fashion brand NGUYEN HOANG TU officially launched its Spring/Summer 2024 Collection, produced in collaboration with contemporary artist Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong. Met in 2016, Nguyen Hoang Tu found harmony in the works of Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong - a Vietnamese contemporary artist famous for his pointillism technique and whose paintings are exhibited in galleries around the world. Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong is the only Vietnamese artist to collaborate with Apple in 2016 on the "Start Something New" campaign.

"Nguyen Hoang Tu is a young designer with a very unique and modern style, so it is quite suitable for my painting style. When I accepted the invitation to cooperate with Tu, I also wanted to experience a new field. Unexpectedly, we worked together in such harmony. Tu knows what he needs and wants, so I worked with him very comfortably. Therefore, when working with Tu, I also promoted all my strengths and emotions," artist Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong shared about this collaboration.

The creative inspiration behind this collection is the blend of two opposing shades between the rustic, impressive features of the Brutalism architectural style and the fresh, sweet and natural features of Lieu Nguyen Huong's painting language.

Designer Nguyen Hoang Tu emphasizes the beauty of materials and Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong's methods, so he minimizes the impact on materials, limits tailoring to let the inherent beauty of materials be honored. Every smallest detail, like the seams, is hidden perfectly.

A few selected designs were personally printed on fabric by Nguyen Hoang Tu and Lieu Nguyen Huong Duong using watermark and color scale painting techniques directly onto the work, making a fashion design a work of art magic when “worn”.
