German cultural festival "GBA Oktoberfest 2023" will be held in Hanoi, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City

GBA Oktoberfest is an annual festival honoring unique German cuisine and fine craft beers, and a plethora of celebrations that reflect its history, traditions, and way of life. Attracting 10.000 visitors every year, GBA Oktoberfest has become the largest beer festival in Southeast Asia. This year, the festival will take place not only in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but also in the coastal city of Danang for the first time.

Unique annual event

“GBA Oktoberfest” is the biggest annual cultural festival held in Vietnam, co-hosted by the German Businesses Association (GBA), the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), together with JW Marriot Hotel Hanoi, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Hanoi, and German Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.

“Over the years, the German Business Association (GBA) is the voice and advocate of German businesses in Vietnam, fostering bilateral socio-economic relations between the two countries. We also have continuously worked on upgrading the authentic setting of our Oktoberfest and spread a unique German culture across the country”, Elmar Dutt & Torben Minko – Co-Chairman of the German Business Association stated.

Over 30 years, “GBA Oktoberfest” has become an annual event to bring the unique German cultural and traditional experiences closer to the Vietnamese people. In addition to that, the festival has created a bridge for promoting the Vietnam-Germany strategic partnership.

Organized in all three regions

The highlight of the festival in 2023 is the Erdinger beer – one of Germany's best – as exclusive beer supplier for HCMC. That inspired the name of this year's event in Ho Chi Minh City: “GBA-Erdinger Oktoberfest 2023”.

This year, the festival will take place not only in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, but also in the coastal city of Danang for the first time and continue welcoming all attendees through ticket sales.

• In Hanoi: the festival will take place at JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi for 3 days, from Thursday to Saturday, 28^th– 30^th September.
• In Danang: the festival will take place at Furama Resort Danang for 1 day, on Friday, 06^th October.
• In Ho Chi Minh City: the festival will take place at Nikko Saigon Hotel for 3 days, from Thursday to Saturday, 12^th – 14^th October.

The festival will continue delivering the lively carnival atmosphere of Bavaria with explosive moments from the famous band O'zapft from Germany and Austria. In addition, traditional German dishes are prepared by the German chef, along with a wide selection of premium German craft beers and other non-alcoholic beverages. Endless food and free-flowing drinks will be served throughout the night of the festival.
