Artist Devon Nguyễn Presents “Unveiling Boundaries: The Reflection Of The Fish Tank” Solo Exhibition

Devon Nguyễn for the first time launched the “Unveiling Boundaries: Reflections of The Fish Tank” exhibition at Villa Medium, in collaboration with Gallery Medium, displaying 31 abstract paintings. This exhibition marks a turning point for Devon and reinvents her as a contemporary abstract artist.

Devon Nguyễn is a fashion designer who graduated from University of the Art London, the cradle of many big design names in the world such as Jimmy Choo, Stella McCartney. She has brought many outstanding accomplishments to the fashion design industry in Vietnam as well as international runway shows. In recent years, Devon has undergone a creative transformation, reinventing herself as a contemporary abstract artist. Drawing on her background in fashion and her passion for art, she has embraced the world of contemporary abstract art, exploring new mediums and techniques to express her vision through paintings.

“Unveiling Boundaries: Reflections of The Fish Tank” is Devon Nguyen's second solo exhibition in collaboration with Gallery Medium - a multi-multifaceted contemporary art gallery, with more than 30 abstract paintings. 

Through the exhibition ‘Unveiling Boundaries: Reflections of The Fish Tank’, viewers are invited to reflect on the symbolic meaning of the fish tank as an expression of human confinement within social norms. The artworks aim to inspire contemplation, open awareness and spark conversations about removing invisible boxes and embracing the formation of the individual in society. 

“We live in a world filled with constant illusions,” says Devon Nguyen. “My art holds personal significance to me as it is a reflection of my inner world means of self-expression and exploration. Each piece carries its own meaning, but ultimately, it is up to the viewers to interpret and find their own experiences. It is a  connection and emotions within the artwork, that’s the beauty of abstract art, a balance between chaos and control.  My art is a way for me to share a part of myself and create a dialogue between the artwork and the audience.”

In “The Reflection of Fish Tank,” she delves into the mesmerizing world of fish tanks, capturing the ethereal qualities and intriguing reflections found within these artificial aquatic environments.

Gallery Medium is a multifaceted contemporary art gallery that blurs the lines between art, design and interiors. Alongside being an online platform, Gallery Medium hosts exhibitions, private views and events, selling art in a curated setting.
